💡 Microsoft Teams will soon* include a Nonsense Filter 🔇:
a new feature that will automatically mute ANYONE attempting to talk “nonsense”. A double win: for the speaker, and the audience 🤝.

More info:

  • 🔉 Unmuting possible after confirming “Do you really want to say it?” 10 times and solving 10 puzzles.
  • 🧪 The “You are on mute” experience we know too well was actually a beta test for the “Nonsense Filter.”
  • 🍿 The feature is a major upgrade to the well-received noise suppression in Teams which is muting all the neighboury and savory snack noises.
  • 🔮 All made possible thanks to MS sophisticated machine learning algorithms, face recognition and constantly updated “Bing Nonsense Dictionary: Big Words with Little Meaning”.
  • 📣 “Be nice, think twice” is the ad slogan.

Other features on the MS Teams roadmap:

  • 📋 “To The Point” which will listen to your entire meeting and summarize it into 3 bullet points. The premium 365 version will additionally highlight which bullets are about you.
  • 🧊 “The Big-small-talker” which will serve you great ice-breaker lines and trivia facts for the pre-meeting small talk.
  • 👨🏼‍🏫 “The Explainer” — once it detects confusion among participants, it will serve explainer snippets from Wikipedia, relaxation music, or in more difficult cases a voice assistant to clarify, e.g. “What George really wanted to say is that he doesn’t know the answer to your question”.

*Soon — possibly, but of course NOT really… Maybe one day? Other than April Fool’s Day?

Which features do you think MS Teams will or should implement?

PS. Kudos to MS teams and their commitment to improving productivity and digital well-being. For real.
